YARD MANAGER

Roisin Pryce
BHSAI, INT SM, INT.T, EFI 1

Roisin Pryce began her equestrian career with Mrs Brooks, at Errislannan at the age of eight. She pony-clubbed, competed and became a pony-girl here culminating in her achieving her BHSAI and ICES, with Iris Kellett in Kildare, in 1987. After running a yard in Switzerland for two years she returned to Ireland and worked in both a polo and racing yards before taking a full time job at The Irish National Stud in Kildare.

Returning home in 2000, she came back to Errislannan and has since achieved her BHS Intermediate Teach and BHS Stable Managers exams and also her HSI Level 1. She is Chief Instructor and Children’s Officer with the Connemara Pony Club and has recently become a British Horse Society Accredited Professional Coach and BHS Ride Safe Trainer.

Roisin trains all of the Errislannan ponies from birth and has developed her own methods of weaning, backing and handling to include bitless riding for the entire herd.

She has created and developed a programme with two local secondary schools, which has culminated in over one hundred and forty local 16 year olds achieving their AIRE Foundation A Certificate in Horsemanship. Roisin trains all of the ponies for the Connemara Therapeutic Riding Group and she also delivers a Short Course for Junior Certificate students with special needs.
